SUNHUNK Cast Dump Semi-Trailer

The SUNHUNK cast dump semi-trailer is a newly developed product jointly researched and designed by VIMID and SUNHUNK, featuring outstanding upgrades to meet the demands of transporting construction materials, mud and soil hauling, land leveling, and mining operations for stone and ore extraction.

Key Highlights of the SUNHUNK Cast Dump Semi-Trailer

• The cargo body interior length reaches nearly 8.5 meters, featuring an anti-bulging body profile design. Additional reinforced box-section ribs are integrated into the center of the side panels to enhance body rigidity. The rear tailgate is positioned outside the cargo body to facilitate easier unloading. The body side panels are independently designed, and the chassis features anti-torsion construction. A stabilizer bar is also equipped during body lifting and lowering operations.
• The cargo body of the SUNHUNK dump semi-trailer is manufactured from K450 high-strength steel, with 4 mm side walls and a 5 mm floor plate. This material delivers impact and abrasion resistance up to four times greater than conventional Q345B steel. Ultra-rigid embossed steel reinforcements enhance resistance against impact and deformation, significantly improving durability while minimizing long-term repair and replacement costs.
• The dump hoist tower utilizes the synchronized SUNHUNK 224-5 hydraulic cylinder, featuring a cylinder rod diameter of up to 224 mm – currently among the largest available on the market – with a maximum lifting capacity exceeding 100 tons. The trailer is equipped with 12.00R20 steel radial tires for enhanced load-bearing capability. Customers may also select the SUNHUNK 202-5 hoist tower to better match operational requirements.
• The cargo body is designed with a lowered center of gravity, helping the trailer operate more stably and safely while minimizing vibration during operation.

Exterior Design of the SUNHUNK Cast Dump Semi-Trailer

• Features a powerful and robust appearance. The trailer body is manufactured from K450 high-strength steel, a material offering impact and abrasion resistance far superior to conventional materials.
• Cargo body is engineered for superior impact resistance and dent prevention, delivering outstanding durability and reducing repair and replacement costs throughout long-term operation.
• Equipped with genuine 13-ton axles offering high load-bearing capacity
• Cargo body adopts a low center-of-gravity design, improving vehicle stability and safety while minimizing vibration during operation.
• Rear lighting lamps are carefully protected by safety guards.
• Rear lighting and license plate lamps are combined with reinforcement plates to improve chassis rigidity.
• Side marker lamps are also carefully protected.

Hydraulic Lifting System

• The hydraulic system utilizes the renowned synchronized SUNHUNK HCTM-5JT-F224X6700Z (HCTM 224-5) hydraulic hoist system, manufactured in synchronization with the dump semi-trailer.
• The maximum hydraulic cylinder rod diameter reaches 224 mm, configured in a 5-stage telescopic cylinder design with a maximum lifting stroke of up to 6,700 mm. 
• Customers may optionally select the SUNHUNK HCTM-5JT-F202X6700Z (HCTM 202-5) hoist system with a 202 mm cylinder diameter to suit specific operational requirement 
• The hydraulic cylinder is manufactured from seamless silicon-manganese 27 steel tubing with high durability. The outer cylinder surface is specially chrome-plated for enhanced corrosion and wear resistance. 
• A double-layer protective ring design is applied to improve impact resistance and ensure safer, more stable operation. 
• The SUNHUNK hydraulic oil tank has a capacity of 228 liters and is synchronized with the hoist tower. The flat-profile oil tank design and extended shape facilitate easier installation. The oil tank mounting base is pre-designed and supplied together with the semi-trailer for convenient assembly. 
• Additional hose support brackets and protective corrugated conduit wrapping are provided for easier installation and maintenance.

Cargo Body System of the SUNHUNK Cast Dump Semi-Trailer

• Based on accumulated manufacturing and engineering experience, VIMID–SUNHUNK has developed an improved U-shaped cargo body structure with embossed reinforcements to enhance rigidity. The widened body profile effectively prevents sidewall bulging, enables faster unloading, reduces tare weight, and improves fuel and operational efficiency.
• The cargo body interior length reaches nearly 8.5 meters, utilizing a U-shaped structure with 4 mm side walls and a 5 mm floor plate constructed from K450 high-strength steel. The widened cargo body increases capacity, improves structural rigidity, and effectively resists deformation and bulging.
• The side panel structure incorporates seven folded reinforcement lines optimized to improve rigidity and prevent bulging, while also allowing materials to flow downward more easily without sticking or clogging. This enables faster unloading and accommodates a wide range of cargo types, especially adhesive materials. Cargo body volume reaches 23.3 m³.
• The cargo floor structure features four auxiliary beams embracing the chassis frame, along with eleven transverse reinforcement beams combined with stabilizer bars to maintain stable body operation during lifting and lowering while preventing body displacement.
• The I-beam chassis frame dimensions are (520/160) × 140 × (10/10) × 8 mm, delivering excellent strength and rigidity. X-shaped anti-torsion braces are installed at both the front and rear of the chassis. The vehicle’s center of gravity has been lowered by 10 cm to better match the tractor head, improving operational stability. The fifth-wheel plate height from ground level is approximately 1,330 mm, matching the tractor coupling height for improved balance.

Dump Semi-Trailer Structure and Components

• The fifth-wheel contact area is reinforced with a welded box-section structure to improve overall trailer rigidity.
• Reinforcement bars are welded longitudinally along the chassis frame.
• The landing gear adopts a single-leg structure, providing better performance on uneven and rough terrain. Additional reinforcement braces increase landing gear load-bearing capacity up to 80 tons.
• Two auxiliary beams embrace the chassis frame to prevent displacement and stabilize the cargo body during lifting and lowering. Stabilizing braces are also integrated into the cargo body design to prevent overturning and torsional twisting.
• Additional reinforcement stabilizers are installed at the leaf spring supports.
• The leaf spring pins utilize oversized high-strength steel pins equipped with anti-wear bushings.
• The dump body pivot pins use full-length solid shaft construction with end locking plates to prevent displacement and allow convenient bolt-on removal and replacement.
• Reinforcement skirts along the trailer body are thick and robustly constructed.
• Two X-shaped longitudinal braces are arranged along the chassis frame to improve torsional resistance and strengthen the cargo body.

Other Systems

Axle and Suspension System: The dump semi-trailer is equipped with 13-ton axles. The suspension system uses 10/10/10 multi-leaf spring packs.

Braking System: The braking system utilizes WABCO drum brakes with dual-line pneumatic operation. Air hoses are routed through coiled spring tubing to ensure high durability.

Tire System: Tube-type tires sized 12.00R20 20PR provide excellent load-bearing capability.

Additional Features

• A storage toolbox is mounted conveniently on the side of the dump semi-trailer for storing tools and essential items during transport operations.
• Diagonal front ladders and rear ladders are installed for easier access to the cargo body.
